Congratulations to the Drums bowlers this weekend, with the Group Nine and also TALBA finals taking place over the weekend we saw some good success again. The Drums rink of D Pegler, K Waistcoat, A O'Neill and P 'Magic' Madgewick managed to win the fours final, in what seemed to be a foregone conclusion they were slowly pegged back until Pete bowled an inspired bowl to draw shot on the 19th end, which clearly gave the team confidence to go on and win as they grabbed a 7 on the following end to win the game comfortably. Dave Pegler also managed to win the Unbadged Singles against Charlie Wheeler from Springhouse after being game down he played the jack in to the ditch to claim a four and the game.
Elsewhere at Springhouse Bowls Club we saw Michelle Squires winning the two wood singles against Sue Clark from Springhouse on the Saturday morning, but unfortunatley losing to Pauline Lowe of Springhouse in the Treasurers/Secretaries singles. Well done everyone for a successful weekend and here's looking to this coming weekend with the Mens Thurrock finals on Sunday.
