As the competitions get towards the business end, Drums still have a good showing in some of both the County and National competitions.
Serena Madgewick has already booked her place at Leamington this year in the singles after securing third place in the playoff against Elaine Score from Springhouse Bowls Club. Managing to win 21-19 Dave Pegler has moved in to the Quarter Finals of the singles playing against Steve Gunnell from Bournemouth Park on the 3rd July at RHP Chelmsford. Stuart and Chris Muir have moved in to the 4th round of the National Family Pairs and face Lee Chaplin from Romford in the next round. Drums Men have also reached the 4th round of the National Double Fours and await the winner of Ilford or Essex County. Don't forget that the club alongside with Grays Town is hosting a couple of events this weekend, with both the County 2 Wood Singles day on the Saturday and also the Group Nine Wally Ball and Intergroup Knockouts matches being spread over the two greens on Sunday. If you're available either day then any help would be most appreciated i'm sure. Be it running the bar, helping around the green or marking a singles match.
See you there and let's hope for good weather! Well done to both Serena and June in being selected to play for Essex in the Johns Trophy this coming Saturday 10th June at Dunmow.
Also the following day Serena will be playing her Quarter Final of the Essex Ladies Singles |
