A better start to the season for the men!

After what was an awful start to the previous 2016 season, the Drums men started in much better form tonight against our local rivals Grays Town. With them having bolstered their squad of the previous season with some ex-Pegasus bowlers, Drums started shakily with the 5 end scores not looking favourably.  Winning on one rink (G Walls) 8-2 but down on the other two with scores of (A Browning) 1-14 and (D Fryer) 1-8.  Fortunately the rink of (D Fryer) playing against P Barham managed to kick start their game and picked up 21 shots from ends 9 to 18 with just 3 shots being dropped. They successfully managed to see out the game, eventually winning 30-17 with the rink of G Walls leading the game against M Christmas from the 2nd end to the finish, winning 32-17.  Sadly even with their best efforts unfortunately the rink of A Browning lost 13-25 against R Bone.  A final result of a 5-2 win and +16 shots is a good start to the season which we can hopefully carry on throughout the coming months.
